Learning English by noticing the world around me
For a long time, I believe that that English only happened when we’ve opened our textbooks or answered questions in class. I thought, speaking and writing were the only ways to improve. However, one classroom experience helped me realize that English can be learned quietly simply by paying attention to the world around us. One day, our teacher asked us to sit calmly and observe of a surroundings. We were not allowed to talk or right. Instead, we had to listen carefully and notice in English words of precious we had. At first, I felt confuse because I had never learned this way before.. But slowly, I started noticing things I had ignored before such as an English song playing softly, words on the poster near the classroom, and short conversations among friends.
