Learning English through kindness and teamwork
I used to think that learning English meant sitting quietly, mesmerizing words, and try not to make mistakes. Speaking in front of others made me nervous, and I often worried about being getting judged. However, one classroom experience completely changed the way I felt about learning English.
One day, our teacher divided us into small groups and gave us a simple task, which was “help each other complete a short English activity.” Each group member had a small role such as one person rate, another road, and another shared ideas. What surprise me was how kind and support you everyone became. When someone struggle, others help instead of laughing. That day, English felt less scary and more like teamwork.
As we work together, I realized that learning English is not only about no words or grammar. It is also about helping, listening, and encouraging one another. When I made a mistake, my friends smiled, and helped me correct it. That gave me confidence to try again. Slowly, I began to speak more without fear.
Outside the classroom, I started using English with friends during group work, games, and even casual conversations. Working together help me understand that English is a tool for connection. It brings people closer and helps us understand different ideas and perspectives.
In our culture, teamwork is important. We grow stronger when we help one another. Learning English through corporation, teach respect, patience, and understanding. These lessons go far beyond textbooks and exams.
This guest post was created based on shared classroom experiences, and discussions with PS. The ideas reflect real moments of teamwork and mutual support during English lessons. This reflection highlights how collaboration place an important role in building confidence and communication skills beyond the blackboard.I would like to thank Upekha Iroshani to inviting me to post on her blog.
